About Tahanan Madrid

A Filipino home of faith, community, and service in the heart of Madrid.

Tahanan—meaning home—is more than a place. It is a spiritual family where Filipinos in Madrid gather to worship, connect, and journey together in faith, hope and love.

Who We Are

A Home for Every

Filipino in Madrid

The Capellanía Filipina in Madrid was established on January 1, 1986, under the Archdiocese of Madrid.

It was entrusted to the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) who had volunteered generously to provide the Filipino community in Madrid, especially migrants, with spiritual guidance and formation, includingthe celebration of the Mass and the sacraments.

The goal of Tahanan is to provide Filipinos with the possibility of living their faith in line with their tradition, their religious roots, and their Filipino values, while helping them integrate into life in Spain.
